Ja, I go to Pretoria maybe twice a year, mostly for parts and stock feed. The Union Buildings gardens are free and a nice spot to stretch your legs after a long drive. Hatfield has decent places to eat if you know where to look. Dont waste time on the N1 on a Friday afternoon though, rather leave early morning and beat the traffic. The city’s not bad, its just not the Free State.
Hazelwood is lekker bra, that whole Brooklyn and Hazelwood strip has some proper spots. I come through to Pretoria maybe once a month to source phone parts from a guy I know near Gezina and honestly the city surprises me every time. People from Jozi sleep on Pretoria like it’s boring but Menlyn at night hits different, the food scene there has blown up. And the rent is cheaper so the small business guys up there are doing interesting things.
