Libertarian/Ancap/Voluntaryist.

Southern Africa needs an alternative to the Rainbow/GNU. One that is rooted in free markets that are completely open to competition.

Time to give the ‘mixed-market’/welfare-state the boot.

I am retired teacher, although still being asked to do my teaching thing every now and then. I have 4 grandchildren thus also have 2 children. I love being creative, may it be in the garden, house renovations or just love any creative activity. As Geography is my subject of teaching I will enjoy that part of this forum.

I also have a very oulike husband. Simon

Welcome AMI, it’s nice to have you here. A retired teacher, that’s proper. We could definitely use your expertise in the South African Facts section.

Four grandchildren, hey. That must keep you busy, in a good way. And creative projects around the house and garden, I know that feeling. My own garden is a constant work in progress.

Say hi to Simon for us. What part of SA are you and Simon based in? We’ve got members from all over, from Cape Town to Jozi and everywhere in between.

Hi everyone, I’m Latha from Durban, born and raised in the Berea area. I work in tourism marketing, which basically means I get to talk about how amazing our city is all day, and I love it.

I’ve been a Durbanite my whole life, and I’m proper passionate about our unique blend of cultures, the beachfront vibe, and of course, our food. If you haven’t tried a proper bunny chow from the Victoria Street Market, you’re missing out.

Outside of work, I’m usually at the beach with my family, exploring the north coast trails, or trying out new curry spots. I’m also a bit of a history buff when it comes to KZN’s role in South Africa’s story.

I joined this forum because I believe sharing authentic local perspectives helps everyone understand our country better. Looking forward to chatting about everything from travel tips to serious discussions about where SA is headed.

Shot for having me!

Welcome to the forum, @DurbanForever! 👋

Great to have a proper Durbanite here. Your perspective on KZN and tourism will be invaluable, especially for threads about travel and local culture. Bunny chow from Victoria Street Market is indeed legendary.

Looking forward to your contributions!

pffft, using my real name, “semi-retired”, in Jo’burg and not really much into chatting at the moment.

I have quite a bit of a tech background, and like anything broadcast related. 35 year relationship, now allergic to cheese :-(

Prefer warm weather. Guess that’s all I can think of *shrugs*

But great forum idea, so may get more involved ;-)
