Pick n Pay hits pause on retrenchments affecting 22,000 workers
Big sigh of relief for a lot of households this morning. Pick n Pay has halted the retrenchment process that was hanging over 22,000 workers, after sitting down with government and union officials. R2 billion stolen through banking fraud, that’s over R11,000 a person
New numbers from TransUnion show digital banking fraud has cost us a staggering R2 billion, working out to more than R11,000 per affected person. Places like Lifeline Benoni are rebuilding on the smell of an oil rag with zero mental health funding, and that tells you how stretched the support is. If you’re struggling, please reach out, and if someone you know goes quiet, check on them.
